Gurutvaa Systems has begun bulk delivery of its Dronaam C-UAS to the IAF (shown above).
The Indian Air Force has received the first bulk manufacturing lot of the Dronaam counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) from the Indian business Gurutvaa Systems.
Sandeep Dawkhar, vice-president of Gurutvaa Systems, told Janes on 24 November that the first shipment of Dronaam C-UAS has recently been sent out. Prior to the shipment, a team of authorities from the IAF’s Directorate of the Air Staff Requirements authorised the C-UAS production batch at the company’s Pune, Maharashtra location, he added.
Dawkhar stated that this shipment was part of an undisclosed quantity of Dronaam C-UASs ordered by the IAF in August 2021. He stated that the recent shipment marked the first time such deliveries were made in bulk.
According to the business, Dronaam is an indigenously designed C-UAS capable of interfering with the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) and jamming the radio frequencies of rogue UAVs.
